Yes I heard that this morning, to do with the weather, bills from christmas and why did I buy that present. Nope been a nice day for me too, mind you the weather helps.

Not been a good day.
Grandson was diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder this morning. Whilst this was not totally unexpected, daughter is devastated and is dreading having to tell her in-laws - they are going to blame daughter for producing a child who isn't "perfect". There are positives as it will open the way to funding for 1 to 1 time for him at school which will enable him to learn maths with the juniors ( he is four and three quarters), and to support his social difficulties.
Grandaughter is very poorly with a chest infection.
My car went for servicing, it is leased from Motability. The tailgate handle and switch are broken, Motability have refused to authorise new parts. Without a working tailgate the car is unusable, as the wheelchair loads with a hoist through the tailgate. Garage can't even give me an estimate of the cost.
Blood test results have come back, and the infection count has trebled. Doctors are discussing whether to re-start a cocktail of anti-biotics.
Lap-top is playing up, a bad connection to the screen causing problems.

Sorry to hear about your awful day Stroppy. My thoughts are with you.
Not had a bad day. Must admit that I've had worse.
Where did you get to today CB? My mum had a little outing today - a walk round to the post office as I had to post a few items. Mum's been told to walk regularly and as the weather was nice, it was decided that she would come with me.

I felt happy this morning walking my dogs in the sunshine; then got a phone call from my Niece this afternoon to say my Brother's heart stopped! The hospital got it going again, but don't know the reason why it stopped; plus they still can't clear his chest infection, so a very worrying tiime again. My poor Sister-in-Law is in bits.

Oh gosh Stroppy, not such a great day for you. I find it very sad that somebody could blame
their daughter in law for producing an "imperfect" baby - goodness me, every child is perfect,
just some have a few problems with certain things. My nephew is mildly autistic and, though
his main problems are dealing with change and people not realsing there are things and
situations he can't easily cope with, he leads a normal and happy life. His Mum started a group
for parents and helpers of autistic children in her area and they meet up for talks, meals, a break,
allsorts. She found it a shock when she first found out but she now has loads of support and
gives loads of support to others. Whatever this little one's grandparents say, that little child is
perfect, he'll just need a little extra help with some things.
Carolyorkie, thoughts are still with you and hopes for your brother's continued recovery, and hopefully
he will very soon be over this worrying setback and they'll find out why it happened.
I had quite a good day yesterday, part from my work being cancelled. I made some glass things
instead though and it meant I saw my hubby and son in the evening.

Yesterday was ok..... 🙂
Stroppy..... I know that getting an ASD diagnosis is a big shock to the system, I have been through it. My son was diagnosed aged 7 with Aspergers. He was 15 last week and although he has some difficulties, he is a pretty decent lad.
He is lucky that he is gifted in many areas, but likes a challenge.
The challenges he gives us have lessened. It is difficult having a hidden disability (we get no help/support whatsoever from anyone) but I am thankful that he has a condition that is not life-limiting.
The ignorance from others is unforgiveable. I have not had any backlash from family, but felt it from other parents at times....

Yesterday was OK. Can't be miserable with the sun out in January.
Comic cut of the day was seeing son's latest consultant. Everything went swimmingly until, right at the end, we suddenly realised that whilst he may be a clinical specialist in one of son's conditions, understand another one fully because it comes under a different aspect of neurology, he had absolutely no clue as to how the 2 combine and affect son's day to day life, every day. We just fell about laughing, until the parking machine wanted £3.50 out of me because son can never walk home even if he managed to walk there!.Really bodes well for Atos support etc!.
Stroppy, may I remind you of my son's reaction to his Asperger's diagnosis - "Oh good. That means I'm normal for me"!!
