new samsung tablet

my old packard bell tablet broke last week and my oh has bought me new samsung tablet.it is being delivered in about an hour.

just unpacked it and was shocked that the charger has only a 2 pined plug on it so had to root in my drawers to find the adaptor my daughter uses when she brings her electric stuff home when she comes on holiday.good job she lives abroad and i had an adaptor.i would have been well miffed had i have had to go to mr t's to buy one.

it has a double ended usb one end plugs into tablet and one end plugs into charger then into socket.do not know if i can plug straight into computer to recharge.

i need to wait until my son in law comes next week to ask him as i do not want to break it.

and the only thing i can not find is the screen lock to lock it portrait or landscape view if that makes sense.

you can tell i am very savvy when it comes to puters.

try  settings  then a  a  display  setting  for the screen lock

when you atttached the usb to the tablet it should  show the charging light,  it takes longert o charge that way,  but at least you should be able to do it

i expect there is the user manual that will br findable once you attach it to the computer

If you've got a mains plug adapter that takes a usb that came with a mobile phone for example I'm sure you can use that. We use the same one for ipads, phones, kindles etc.

i got a 2 pin plug and a double ended usb and the 2 pin plug has a usb port. so one in plug and one in tablet??

thanks does anyone know if it will damage it if i plug in usb to puter and it is wrong and can not be charged through computer.if you know what i mean

Cookie - just google for instructions. Put in the make and model and charging and I am sure that you will find what you need.

I am sure that you won't damage the tablet by connecting it to the usb port of the pooter even if it doesn't charge. Even if it doen't charge from the pooter you can probably use the usb connection to transfer contacts, pictures etc.

Some devices are "fussier" than others as to the lead etc. - my ipad mini will only charge from one of the usb ports, and only with certain leads.

Mmmmmmmmm that smilie smashing pc looks like me when i get annoyed with mine,,i normally start crashing my fingers on the mouse in fury first LOL.
