Me too Maggie.  I know I haven't done much and I applaud all you who have done it month after month.  I think it's so much better, and more profitable for the charities to just donate the cash.  They would have done from me this month because the Royal Mail will get 50% of what you will for DFG.Smiley Sad

I think the postage has sounded the death knell for MDCC. It's very sad, as it's such fun.....

Hello Maggie and CG - I am so very sorry that your beautiful work went for so litle CG - that must make you very despondent.  Yes Maggie, I agree with you.  But what do we do?

have to get rid of this stuff, because I am not having the scenario of my OH/son having to clear out wardrobes, cupboards and lofts - they'll only charity shop it anyway.  I have cracking shoes and handbags that I'm quite happy to put on here for, say £15/20 inc p&p and get something rather than nothing for MacMillan.  I have also thought about putting the whole lot together under wholesale, along with evening wear and formal coats and dresses and perhaps a business seller might be interested,

And before anybody jumps in and tells me I could live for years, yes I could. I could also contract an infection in the next fortnight and snuff it, because I still have a compromised immune system.

Blerdy cancer don't start me.  Anyhow, who wants to go dancing?  I have the shoes, just not the feet anymore.

Sadly I didn't list this time as like a lot felt very despondent after the last time, instead I have promised £50 to macmillan nurses through sponsorship.

Will try listing again nxt month and see how it goes but otherwise will stick to buying 😞

I didn't join in this month Smiley Sad
my last months "Knitted Tilly" didn't do to bad at all but I know a year ago it would have sold for more ........ its lucky winner generously sent more anyway heart .......... postage costs definitley stops me bidding as often though, not long ago you'd bid on something just for the fun of it & to help by sending a few quid ...........  now you can't do that as much.

Sending a big hand squeeze Carol's way ............. she sounds like she's could do with one heart
Its nice to see you post Mrs Smiley Very Happy

Can I be sent pp addys please?

I think one of the problems is the lack of of bidders. I just can't spread myself and my bids high enough and wide enough to be able to help everyone's charities. There just seems to be a decreasing pool of us, particularly those of us who gift and sometimes can give a few extra pennies.

Could MDCC be done quaterly perhaps?

All I can say this month is what everyone else has, one of mine hasnt sold but is going to a special person anyhow.

The ones that did sell I did well with so no complaints there and on top a generous donation for my own charity, thank you kind lady;)

One idea if there is only a few of us left is to nominate one charity each month, over a year all of our charities will benefit and maybe more will be donated.

We could run a thread so that we can decide who we would like to nominate for that month, even throw in a raffle that is run at the same time with the proceeds going to that cause too..

I sold four items this month (not all to MDCCers), which is  lot better than last time.

It seems a lot of effort for not much money, but I don't expect to make a fortune as I
list low-cost items to attract more interest.

Which doesn't work!

It's frustrating. I always post news of my sales on FB to members of the charity I support
but am underwhelmed by the response.

I had some non MDCC buyers too this month. One item did surprisingly well for Chaldon & I was able to send them £35. Generous people also gave extra to make my DFG takings £44. Thank you so much everyone.

I quite like Dairy's idea but it still boils down to, if you have no money to spend you can't spend it. I am down to bidding on 1 or 2 small items a month. If I had the money to bid more I would spend it on materials for DFG.

i would like to thank all my buyers ( not all fhg) for there support and extra pennies.i have sent biker and her lunch club £35 today which i am sure she will appreciate .

i think that as we have several new faces coming in to fhg this last month i would like mdcc to continue at least until christmas to see if we can get back to the support it deserves.if by new year it is still quiet then we can consider other options.

once again thank you to alll my buyers69a5c081.gif
