just need some sympathy

Sitting here quite happily watching the start of Strictly when everything went off - power cut! went to collect the oil lamps and fell over the dog, broke one lamp, hurt my knee and shoulder. picked myself up and lit a lamp so that I could check the dog was ok and retrieve broken lamp, then managed to get others lit..... guess what ...... the electric came back on!! No sympathy from OH all he could say was "didn't you know the dog was there" well, of course I did, I often fall over him on purpose, that's the highlight of my week hurting myself! So thought I may get a little sympathy here. By the way the dog is fine!

                                                                            Chin up

Don't we all know that feeling, Husbands eh,

I remember the time I was in the loft and slid off the joist and went through sons ceiling landing either side of joist ripping the skin off insides of my thighs, and my husband just called me a silly ***** and couldn't I have been more careful, and that he was now going to have to fix the ceiling.  Nothing about the splinters and blood on my leg, hey ho what do you do.

Oh I've got one of those. I was eating something and it went down the wrong hole, I'm coughing and wheezing past myself, really choking mind, and he turned round and said.......

"do you have to make that much noise?"

ooops, forgot to say, sorry you broke the lamp, and glad the dog's OK. typical that though isn't it? You can make OH rub you down with some nice soothing healing balm....that'll teach him!

Am fine today, just a bit stiff and bruised, but am really milking it - limping out to the kitchen to make dinner etc. Are men just unsympathetic or just not think before they speak?

Oh I've got one of those - poor dear.

Fell over the other week - avoiding the rose branch I hadn't got around to pruning and fell over the bricks he'd left on the path which were hidden by the Lavatera he'd been asked to attend to the week before.  There I am leggings, jacket and leg impaled on a rose bush and shouting for help, himself comes out and looks around and goes back indoors!!! Please bear in mind that i am rather large and had a bright red cardi on - he couldn't see me!!!!!!!!!!! Next time around he got the idea!!!

Didn't hurt myself really but couldn't unhook myself from the thorns.

Perhaps they realise they can't cope with the consequences if you've really hurt yourself.  Like your mum when she clipped you round the ear because she was so worried when she 'lost' you in a big shop for five minutes.  Smiley Very Happy
