Nyaff - just one of the words that shows the glorious descriptive alphabet of Glaswegian, saying what you mean without having to use a lot of words.

I love some of these words you've posted.
Thoroughly agree with you all on the manners thing though, and it's not just young ones who don't use manners. The amount of peeps that just stand there like they're in a trance when they want to get past my very large trolley as I'm doing my job!! why can't they just say "excuse me, can I get past please".......
I'm asking for the moon aren't I?

I agree CB. The older people can be just as rude & impolite as the young. I don't think it's an age thing at all.

It's definitely not an age thing....I used to pull my MIL up for being rude... she could be cringingly horrible and she used to say that she could say what she liked because she was old...
Errr no....
and she also used to poke people with her walking stick if they didn't move out of her way, never said excuse me at all...

There are lots of great words
spigot & flange are two of my faves
flummoxed is another, & periwinkle
When I'm tired, my mind sometimes repeats 'Emerson Fittipaldi' like a sort of earworm. I don't follow F1 either!!

Oh yes, here's one I like - Skank, I'm not even sure it is a word,
but it's my word for describing a nasty mess, like grime or dirt,
spilt stuff that hasn't been cleared up or a coach floor after a
cross-country team have been in there!
