you seem to be enjoying that cocktail there Rose!!
I'm like Stan, I love a Christmas butty, OH thinks I'm being revolting! he likes just turkey and plenty of salt on a butty.
I've always been the same, if there's a buffet I have to have a bit of everything!! never want to leave anything out in case it was really yummy and I missed out.
that is why I is a big coo

Uusally we just raid the fridge for whatever we fancy.
Probably a plate of smoked salmon, smoked eel and smoked mackerel, a bit of salad and some horseraddish cream or cheese and fruit.

Good luck with your hospital appointment Pat, I hope it isn't difficult to sort out a new diet. Just don't let yourself feel deprived of anything, that always seems to be a recipe for disaster!

We have bits and pieces, maybe some french stick with whatever
we fancy on, often weird suppers of whatever we can rake together.
Personally I love a bit of french stick with cheese and loads of fruit
and a few crisps.
This year we'll be at hubby's family, so will have Christmas dinner
in the evening and goodness knows what for lunch, maybe eating it
in the car on way.

Thanks Auntie, it all went rather well and quickly this morning. I even have an appt booked next week with the gp for the results. Yes, I agree about the diet. Trying the idea of sections on a plate. 1/2 is veggie, and 1/4 carb and 1/4 protien. Not quite there yet, but working on it.

I go to my MIL every Christmas day evening so its turkey and stuffing sarnies all round. When I come home I will have a few after eight mints and a swig of Gaviscon and go to bed arond 12.30 AM

I'm not sure what we'll have this year, there was a time when I used to love overloading the table with buffet finger food type of stuff, The last couple of years I've learnt not to as it never got eaten ... I always make a trifle as hubby says its the law to have trifle at christmas .... he'll eat a sml bowl & then another sml bowl on boxing day & the rest gets thrown away
& I'll be making sure I get my usual farm shop pork pie
I probably will over food shop again but not much usually gets wasted, I like to get as much as I can in before christmas as I hate shopping again too soon. Having said all that as there's only me, hubby & our youngest for christmas this year I doubt if i'll need much more than normal
Hope Pat is ok )))diabetes((( ... my Brother has just been diagnosed with it

Just us 2 OAPs! lol, Aldi do a pack of small new potatoes in jackets that have herb oil on them 89p they are lovely so it will be them chopped up into a fritatta and drenched in tasty stilton all melted and crispy golden;) thats our Christmas dinner. I will have an individual xmas pudding microwaved then slosh it in double cream till its hidden in the bowl hubby hasnt got a sweet tooth but enjoys fermented red grapes;) nothing extra is bought in as we eat the same stuff all year.
LOL @ 'Gaviscon'

Thanks Cat. xxx Ooooooooh Dairy those potatoes sound gorgeous.

I've had the crispy slices and the microwave baby new pots with herb and butter and they are both lovely. Very good value, especially when they have 30% off the price! I have kept a bag of the potatoes for 4 days past their "sell by date" and they were as fresh as the day they were put in the bag. Only kept them because I forgot they were in the fridge

Just been to my brother's house and we have sorted who is doing what for Christmas meal.
I knew I had the main course - turkey ordered, gravy sorted (those M&S vouchers I've saved throughout the year will come in handy). Just need to sort the bread sauce and cranberry sauce.
We are having lunch at about 1230 ish so by evening I'm hoping I might get some leftover turkey to take home for a sarnie!
15-12-2013 2:27 PM
Sounds good Rose. I still don't 'get' bread sauce! lol
15-12-2013 3:31 PM

Don't lose as much onto the floor...
