as you get older......

do you find you just can't be bothered cooking a main type meal? that you'd just rather have, say, soup and a wee pud?

I'm going off this eating lark in the wrong way aren't I? I should just be having the main bit and none of the other nice bitsfrustration bunny smiley.gif

Re: as you get older......

No, I love my food too much!

Most days I'll cook from scratch for myself, either a joint or a chicken breast, potatoes, at least three veg, sometimes a Yorkshire pudding and gravy.  At the same time I do a salad for him, or pasta bake, macaroni cheese,  (cos he doesn't like 'proper dinners' and I don't like what he eats!  We have different home cooked meals 90% of the time!  Woman Very Happy

Re: as you get older......

Absolutely not! We have a cooked dinner made from scratch every day (well, apart from the Aldi Scotch pies on Thursday) and have just finished a home made soup for supper, two helpings of it as well.  Home made rolls for breakfast tomorrow

Re: as you get older......

The only time we have a pud is at Christmas.  We normally have a main meal every day cooked from scratch.  We have fruit a couple of hours after we've had our tea.

Re: as you get older......

I don't do the cooking, but it depends on how tired I am.

I try to eat a yoghurt first thing - if I am running late it can be eaten in the car on the way to work / meeting.

Usually a sandwich at lunchtime as it is quick and easy to eat at my desk. Mostly one of those sandwich thins as it is easy to carry wrapped in foil.

If I am tired in the evening I rarely manage to eat a full meal, so it is usually something quick and easy - egg on toast, cauliflower cheese, soup or something. It isn't unusual for me to fall asleep whilst eating.

If it is a duvet day I usally skip the yoghurt as I am rarely awake much before lunch. Lunch will often be fresh fruit. It will then be a meal cooked from scratch in the evening with plenty of veggies.  If I really fancy some fruit sorbet for pud, but mostly no pud.

Re: as you get older......

I'll take that as a no then hahahahaa!!!!

oh I'm a norty girl then aren't I? OH always wants a pud, tin rice, or fruit, or cake, I think it's a habit we've got into.

I think the daft hours we work don't help. Ed, I'm very impressed with you mate, your hours are dafter than mine!!

I think I better keep the slow cooker out hadn't I?

I must admit though on my days off I don't mind cooking the lunch because it's not a mad dash!!!!cooking smiley.gif
