CB, easiest cheese scone recipe in the world. 8oz SR flour, 2oz butter/marg (i use soft Stork for baking), officially 4oz grated cheddar (but I always through in an extra handful). Blend marg into flour, getting as much air as poss in, same with cheese (i spend time just picking up & dropping back into bowl just to get plenty of air), mix to a dough with cold water. Roll to about 1/2 inch deep, cut out, brush milk on top, little bit of grated cheese & then into gas mark 5 for 12-15 mins per batch. Simples!

thank you all for your comments.
my cheese straw recipe is
500 g s/r flour
250 margerine
desert spoon a f baking powder
a few ounces of grated cheese
and a few ounces of fine grated cheese
i put flour margarine and baking powder grated cheese in a bowl and rub in and add water to a soft pastry and when rolled out i dampen the top with a little water and sprinkle the fine grated cheese on top and bake for about 15 mins
then when cut in half and put butter on 🙂

It does, there's enough to feed an army there!!
One thing I noticed in the kitchen, the chap with the short hair has a hat on, all the others with long hair don't.

the man is the chef and i the cook wear hats at all times the rest of the women are carers or domestics and were just helping to clear up and on a normal day if they were in the kitchen they would have hats on but they are all wearing head pieces like head bands.:-)

Oh that's ok then, I'll let them off!;-) It all looked lovely anyway. 😄
