I must admit that at first facebook seemed a good idea, but I find it's difficult to keep in contact with people. Unless you stay on one particular thread, you start scrolling down and down and then someone will say something and you have to leave where you are and find the thread, read what they say and then go back to scrolling, in the meantime you missed loads of comments!!!!!

I'm beginning to think I'd rather be over here, so my mission now is to come here more and talk more to you guys.

I found these boards a few years ago, by clicking on "Community" out of curiosity.  Q&A was here at that time, and I enjoyed that, though even then people were saying it had changed for the worse.  I think that if I was new to eBay now, I would be unlikely to notice the word "Community" as it is hidden at the bottom of the page, and would therefore be unlikely ever to read any of these threads and join in.

I agree with that.  I'm not even sure why ebay haven't got rid of the boards as they are determined to make them almost invisible.  Like vamo48, I also clicked on 'Community' years ago, found Q & A and spent a few happy years there until ebay wielded the axe.  I never found another home on the new boards, so now only visit very occasionally.  More than one ex Q & A'er started new off-ebay forums, I found my home there amongst familiar friends.  FHG is still here so hopefully you will be able to keep it going.  If not, you don't have to lose touch.

As for MDCC, when I was introduced to it, it had already been going for some time so I didn't understand all of it but I was happy to join in.  In those days there was more of a mixture of items, there were some hand-made items but there was a lot of other miscellaneous stuff too.  I did more buying than selling but what I did notice when selling was that items I listed for MDCC actually sold for less than when I sold the same items without stating that it was for charity.  I could never understand this, and eventually I stopped listing for MDCC and just sold stuff without saying it was for charity and then donated the proceeds.
