I lived in Scotland (Morayshire) for about a year. I stayed with my sister, She used to get so cross when I came home from work and spoke Scottish!! I only did it to annoy her!

I lived in Elgin corgi. My brother in law was in the fleet airarm at Lossiemouth. Hms Fulmer if I remember correctly. It was exactly 50 years ago just after Christmas when I first went!! They used to have some good dances in the mess on Sunday evenings. All the girls used to bus in there and the sailors were very pleased to see us.. I sat in an ejected plane seat in a hangar. (Can't remember just what I was doing in that hangar)

We go up to Elgin at least once a week CG as it is only 20 miles away from where our caravan is. There is a building there they have an auction in on Wednesday nights and it has a cafe within it and they do a lovely plate of fish & chips, very tasty.
If you were coming into Elgin from the Rothes side the building is on the right just before the bridge that crosses the railway. If you have not been up there since CG you would see a massive difference with new supermarkets and shops around that area and new houses.
