I always think that Welsh is a singy songy language as I think that the Welsh always seem to sing their words if you know what I mean. I don't mean that in a nasty way Stan.

Thanks Stan. I'm glad that I didn't upset you. I'll be in Wales on Wednesday. We're going to Llandudno and we'll be having our lunch at the Queens Hotel and then time for some retail therapy. I hope that the weather is nice.

My French is still not bad and I can get along, but have been trying to learn Spanish, from CDs, on my own.
I took it into hospital for the long term stay in, eerm, October 2012, lol.
Chris - bien gracias.
Thinking of switching to Italian, according to my clever neighbour, it's easier.

I used to be able to swear very eloquently in 6 foreign languages as I always thought it was good to know when the locals were using such epithets with regard to myself.

Was it not you Aernethril who could speak Spanish?
In fairness to myself, it was Oct 2013, not 12, that I started on the CDs. I think I need conversational classes, because, I can get by on the basics, and, important if you're lost, donde esta/os? BUT, when they reply to me in Spanish, I haven't a clue half the time what they're saying, speaking so fast. I love Spain as a country, and I've been lucky enough to see some beautiful places. It's not all Costa Brava.

No, twas not moi.
I did do a year of Spanish in school but never used it so it all rather went away.
I can remember bits of me school French and I used to be able to mutter a bit in German but largely because I had a German friend way back, and did a term at German evening class.
I used to be able to fluff some Cantonese too, but most of that is a struggle to remember now.
At one time - titter ye not - I could hold a conversation very creditably in Latin - bit stilted as there were no words for modern 'things' but all in all, could still do it.
And then I went and had a family and that was that.
