I've decorated every room now. Just the front room to go which is currently a very old and marked magnolia.. urrgh.
There is a chimney breast that I could make into a feature wall. I wont be replacing the carpet any time soon, that is a murky green colour. The furniture is mainly pine and sofas are a natural colour.
The other room with a chimney has now been painted olive green as the feature wall and natural hessian on the rest of the walls just to match the curtains that were already there and a beach scene on the wall in watercolours of green and beige. However It's turned out well.
Bedrooms are pink (my daughter) Dark blue and Lime :_| (my son's) and mine is classic duck egg blue.
The kitchen is an apricot white which is a slight improvement from a discoloured version that alreaday existed.
I've done well havent I for 4 weeks! :^O
So what colour is your front room/living room? Ideas please

We've got two cream walls, one duck egg blue, and one wall of windows with cream curtains. Armchairs are mid-brown and sofa is beige, both with leaf patterns, carpet beige, large rug beige, cream and brown, cushions duck egg blue. Curtains need replacing because cat has shredded the linings! Thinking of cream again, but maybe blue...?

Just been somewhere and they've decorated their room in Dulux Malt chocolate. It looks like it has a lilac/purple tint in it, so I'm considering that too so I can do the feature wall in a dusky purple tone

Nice. I love red. Had it at the flat in the kids room. Somehow this place doesn't say red to me. Period colours seem to suit. It was built in 1836

mitzi, your post of your wallpaper suggestion reminded me of one of my favourite wallpaper designers in Glasgow... a bit flamboyant but fab nonetheless.

Streety - Like you, I love period colours and chose them in keeping with the property. It does make a dramatic statement and works very well. I have a generously proportioned lounge 5.50m x 5.35m (w) which is lovely and bright and the deep Victorian Red contrasts beautifully with the wallpaper which has a deep silky material feel to it.
Ihasa - I live in the Highlands and sourced my wallpaper here having seen it in someone else's home and fell in love with it until I found out the price per roll {{swoon}} but it was worth it and once you've found the one you like you stop looking because everything else does not compare.
It's the kind of paper that you cannot help but stroke :^O
I love the link you posted.

Yep :^O
Seemingly outrageous prices but some are hand painted and silkscreened, so that ups the price a bit... They are a special company in that no one else designs their type of work among the established textile designers and manufacturers. They are not to everyone's taste though.
I wasn't really suggesting streety should use them but it's sometimes nice to dream. 😄
Agree mitzy, it's sometimes worth pushing the boat out for something you really really like.

Well, I have painted the whole room in Malt Chocolate for now. I am undecided in the feature wall colour. There are also some built in shelving in the corner so I've left that for now. I picked up a paint called dusted foundant but it didn't seem right. A bit too purple.
