Washing my trainers in a washing machine

Hi,

I bought a pair of Reebok trainers, which turned out to  be too big. Can I wash them in a washing machine in hope that they will shrink after wash? I know that Nike trainers can be washed. What temperature will be best?

Please note that I'm not after advice to resell them, wear thicker socks or put in additional soles.

I know that I've washed trainers in the washing machine a few years ago but I don't think that they shrank.  

Hope that you manage to get some more help on this.

I always put mine through the machine and they've never shrunk

I doubt if you can shrink them because the soles will stay the same size.

sorry but washed mine many times no shrinkage just a nicer colour with less smell

Is this a late April fool prank or more proof that care in the community doesn't work?
