Hi Rainy, just to let you know I'm often thinking of you.
Haven't seen you on here for ages and hope you are ok.
Hope you find your way back in here, goodness, it's like a maze but I guess we'll
get used to it!

Oooh you're all back - first offI have to apologise to Stroppy for asking her the daftest of questions (how do you cope?) - so I apologise sweetheart (blame the pills), I am not usually so thoughtless. Of course it's endurance - stupid woman that I am. It has haunted me since I asked it. How are you anyway?
Glad you like the book Ruth - I haven't heard any more about the film though.
I'm not allowed out in the sunshine, in fact, the list of things I'm not allowed to do makes the last 10 months something akin to living in a nunnery. Notta lotta fun. I only get freckles anyway (redhead).
Lovely to see you all back x.

To the beautiful, brave Rainy...

Glad to see you posting - and no need whatsoever to apologise, you ask any daft question that you like.
I too am banned from being outside unless covered from head to foot as apparantly the meds cause photosensitivity - I got quite badly burnt and I had only been out to the shop!
I am making progress, have been discharged, and the outreach team are doing the dressings at home. Outreach team are wonderful.
The infection count is coming down, "the hole" is reducing in size slowly, but it is going to take a long long time to get it closed. Having problems as my skin is reacting badly to the adhesive dressing, so we are having problems getting dressings to stay on, and managing to keep the vacuum working.
I have an out-patients appointment tomorrow so that the consultants and tissue viability can argue about the progress of the hole and the way forward.

Lovely to see you Carol. Hope you find your way around ok. Stroppy I am glad to hear that you are healing although slowly. Keep your chins up both of you.

Gawd Maggie...
I thought you'd said " keep your chins up, both of them "

R&R rainy..

Hi Carol, glad to see you feeling up to posting. It's too hot to go out anyway, I haven't been outside for a fortnight. If we're counting chins, I win!!
Glad the hole is still healing stroppy. It's strange about being allergic to the dressings. I was covered in a rash and swelling and allsorts and it turns out it was an allergic reaction to the drapes, and now I'm allergic to the dressing they put on after a blood test. Is it an age thing or are they using 'new improved eco friendly ' dressings???
17-07-2013 6:36 PM
Nah...it's cause you are old >>>>>>>>>>>>>>runs >>>>>>>>>>>>>
17-07-2013 6:39 PM
I think CG that you and I may be eeksies on the not going out in the sun, although I have managed to sneak in a bit of gardening, but no, I deffo win on the chins.
Glad to hear that you are progressing Stroppy and at least you are at home which is a bonus too
Question - how do I get into the last post on a subject, before I had only to click above the name of whoever it was who posted last. I give in to being thick before anyone else says it, lol.
