Terrific Thursday's Tea Time Treats

Unusually for me, I had to call in at ASDA today and managed to pick up a ready cooked chicken for £2.00 (in the reduced section) - that means that I can have chicken jalfrezi and my son is having butter chicken - both with rice and mini poppadoms. I always have a raita and son has mango chutney.

Some chicken noodle thing I found in the freezer. I am trying to make room for some cooked apples!

Finally finished the huge leg if lamb and the chicken that have been going all week for us two because the boys have been out. Have made some good stock from the remains. So I'm going to make a lasagne tonight with some rocket and watercress to have a change from roasts!

Not sure what we will have for supper. Had a nice bowl of fresh veg soup with some baked baguette. 🙂 And it has filled me up.

We've both had very naughty food today.

We had fish and chips for lunch.  I saved 3/4 of my fish and had it for my tea and a slice of bacon and egg pie that I made this morning.

He had his fish and chips at lunchtime and a portion of a 'thing' I made yesterday which was puff pastry, tomatoes, sweetcorn, grated cheese and 6 whole eggs on the top.  He also had some cheese quich.  Then he had some tinned peaches and home made egg custard.  I had a  (mumbles) chunky Kit Kat.  No wonder I've only lost 10lb in 9 weeks.  I did swim my 1/3 mile again today though.  Smiley Wink

It's very easy capt.  Line a 7" pie plate with shortcrust pastry.  Cut up 5 rashers of bacon put on pastry, break 4 whole eggs on top.  put pastry lid on (with cuts or hole for steam)  paint with milk..  Bake for 20mns at 400,  gas 6 ,  200c then turn down to gas 4, 180c for 15 mns.

This was mine.  The black looking bit is where the egg white ran out through the seam.
