Just wanted some advice. I am on Virgin Broadband for my phone, telly and Computer and i wondered if anyone knew of any cheaper tariffs around?. I hardly use my phone but have been told they will just put the price of television tariff to a larger one if i take the phone off?. I wanted to think about getting a new telly in the future. Is it maybe cheaper to get a youview?, then i could have no phone and get a laptop computer?. Does it make sense to do it that way?. I dont know if its cheaper to have abroadband package or just have seperate things?. I really do not know what to do but love my telly but need to make sure im not paying for more than i should when i could get it cheaper doing it another way?. Im totally confused, i dont want to be throwing money down the drain. Advice would be welcome?. Thank you.

I'm with virgin...
we have TV, Broadband and phone
I use a laptop and a desk computer and have wireless modem. I looked into cancelling the Tv part and getting freeview but it worked out cheaper to stay with current package as we get an * all services discout*. cancelling the TV would put the price up.

Broadband is the same price whatever PC/Laptop you use as you are paying for the connection.
Shop around.
I was with BT for landline, AOL for broadband and sky for TV..
BT kept putting their prices up even though all I needed the line for was mainly broadband and calls in the evening.
Now I am with sky for all 3 as they offered it all for £50 a month. However AOL also offered a good deal when I cancelled and it was a tough call.

Do you think sky is probably better or more or less the same as Virgin then??.
Thanks everyone, any more advice still welcome.

The cheapest way to do things is to keep moving if you can
(introductory offers are always better than what you pay as a long term customer)
I'm with Virgin (cable) and they've always been very good in terms of service and fixing things quickly on the rare occasions when there have been problems.
Those I know who are with sky have more issues/problems than I do
so what you need to do is write down a list of what you HAVE to have, then sit down and compare that to the bundles offered by the various companies (all will have a bunch of stuff you really don't care about), then decide where to go

Try ringing virgin and tell them you are considering moving to sky. sometimes they give you a discount to make you stay.

im with talk talk for broadband and phone, sky tv separate.
but every time my contract is up with both, i tell them im leaving
and get a brilliant deal......but i do push my luck as far as i can.
once had a talk talk fella come to the door to see if he could
get me a better deal.........when i told him what i was paying.
he laughed and said.........jeesh i cant even get it that low]:).

Yes maybe i will do that contact and say i hardly use my phone, am thinking of changing and see what they do. Yes they do spring into action when they know they are going to lose a customer. I just really worry about throwing money down the drain.?:|. Thank you everyone for advice.
