Proobably too little too late .....

Lived in Scotland myself for a while and now live 30 mins over the border . I personally will feel very sorry if the UK splits up ...but I am a Northerner and have always been closer to Scotland than to down South......

However the people of Scotland will decide for themselves ...whatever the outcome is I hope that the decision does turn out to be the right one for them ....its an historic occasion ...

Aah! So that's it! If they become split from the Uk Are they then not under the British Monarchy as well. & if that's the case will they then have their own or a president or what?.
I also think it's a shame but as long as they have made the decision with the full backing of the Scottish people,I wish them all the best in their new future!.

I hope they dont vote yes. I fear things might not be as good as they have been promised. The Queen would still be their queen as she is Queen of Scotlland as well. They would have to vote to become a republic.

I thonk it would be really sad if they left. Once they leave they won't be able to go back if it didnt work out.

There is a substantial (about 1/3) fraction of population who are Republican minded, but there's also the Orange Lodge!

Incidentally the monarch was never "of Scotland", always "of Scots".

Are not Scots Scotland then? By that I mean there would be no Scotland without the Scottish people or is that a daft question?

I will just be glad when it is all over no matter what the outcome, am getting sick of hearing all the arguments. Obviously I have my opinion on the matter, but   the subject seems to be causing such huge divisions in small communities that I wonder how we can ever go back to normal regardless of the result.

Well I live north of the border and I have a vote in the referendum.

I've already voted as I have a postal vote.

The decision for me was easy, I want to live in a country that is United and Great.

Well I for one and absolutely sick and tired of the Scots AND especially their politicians stating they want to live in a democratic Scotland where they get to decide on the issues affecting them.  Hypocrites the lot of them - well most of the politicians anyway.

Look at University tuition fees:  In Scotland the scottish Parliament has the last word on how much the Scots students pay. Westminster MPs do not get a vote.  In England the Westminster parliament decides - and the Scots MPs get to vote on how much an ENGLISH student pays to go to Uni.

Prescription charges:  In Scotland they have been decreasing for years heading to free if not there yet. Westminster MPs do not get a vote.  In England prescription charges seem to go up every year and yes, the Scots MPs get a vote on how much of my money I have to spend when I am ill.

A Government to look after our own affair they bleat.  What about a government to look after mine?

That aside the YES campaign has appeared to garner a lot of support from Salmond's debate where he sid he could keep the pound regardless of Westminster's wishes and that he preferred a currency union.  Why have independance if the bank of England is in control of your economy?

Seems to me to be pie in the sky Salmond vs the desperate not to lose my job 3 wise men.

What a choice - I do not envy the residents of Scotland.  But it does make for interesting times in which to live.

Just said on the news 51% no 49% yes. Hardly a landslide if it comes out yes it still means half the people dont want it and vice versa. Seems that a few companies are going to move out of Scotland if it is a yes vote Lloyds Standard life and BP. Must admit to not liking Alex Salmond I always have the feeling he is making it sound like paradise but without the money from the uk how will they be able to afford all the free stuff they have now prescriptions and tuition etc. (That we in england don't have). We shoild all be equal nevertheless I would like us to remain a United Kingdom
