There is a substantial (about 1/3) fraction of population who are Republican minded, but there's also the Orange Lodge!
Incidentally the monarch was never "of Scotland", always "of Scots".

I will just be glad when it is all over no matter what the outcome, am getting sick of hearing all the arguments. Obviously I have my opinion on the matter, but the subject seems to be causing such huge divisions in small communities that I wonder how we can ever go back to normal regardless of the result.

Well I for one and absolutely sick and tired of the Scots AND especially their politicians stating they want to live in a democratic Scotland where they get to decide on the issues affecting them. Hypocrites the lot of them - well most of the politicians anyway.
Look at University tuition fees: In Scotland the scottish Parliament has the last word on how much the Scots students pay. Westminster MPs do not get a vote. In England the Westminster parliament decides - and the Scots MPs get to vote on how much an ENGLISH student pays to go to Uni.
Prescription charges: In Scotland they have been decreasing for years heading to free if not there yet. Westminster MPs do not get a vote. In England prescription charges seem to go up every year and yes, the Scots MPs get a vote on how much of my money I have to spend when I am ill.
A Government to look after our own affair they bleat. What about a government to look after mine?
That aside the YES campaign has appeared to garner a lot of support from Salmond's debate where he sid he could keep the pound regardless of Westminster's wishes and that he preferred a currency union. Why have independance if the bank of England is in control of your economy?
Seems to me to be pie in the sky Salmond vs the desperate not to lose my job 3 wise men.
What a choice - I do not envy the residents of Scotland. But it does make for interesting times in which to live.
