that's exactly the way I am! I've got as far as making a list of what I need to do!
One of my to-dos was to phone my mum & tell her that the Sky bloke was going round on tuesday to fit Sky for her as a christmas present (we;ve paid the first year upfront for her). She just beat me to it as Sky sent a letter to tell her about them installing it on tuesday & she didn't realise it was addressed to me until she opened it & she just phoned me.

What a nice present Gina. I treated myself to Sky several years ago & it's one of my little luxuries.:-)
My turkey needs a coat as it is freezing.....in my freezer.;-)

ooooooooh they are big
hmmmm, does jasper conran do a "turkey range"?
i think i shall take them into slaters and get them measured up instead:-D

couldn't think what else to get her Maggie, she's very hard to buy for, the girls have clubbed together & bought her one of those table top ovens so that she doesn't have to put the main oven on just for herself (she's been hinting that she's like to get one).
The set top boxes don't have the kind of programme she likes (history, crime, biographies etc) so we bought the knowledge package for her which contains all of these

Afternoon
Well we've finally put our tree & decorations up - it was not like a Hollywood movie - no going out and cutting a tree down and then bringing it home to decorate it as a family whilst listening to carols and wearing matching christmas jumpers!!
T'was more MrH & little son going into attic and getting boxes out. Then MrH bogs off out and little son & I did it together. Big son pretended not to hear us and just appeared and said 'oh you've put the tree up''
No snow - just very cold.
I guess my turkey might have spent his last day running around by now - hope so I pick him up on Friday! Guess my bacon & chipolatas no longer feel the cold winter air on their back either!!

not done anything really today, went for the paper, am just about to sort out my sofa -wash the cushion covers
they'll do back on in the morning , they dry really quickly 🙂
its gone really dark here, these thick dark grey clous have been rolling in on the strengthening breeze this last 30 mins 😐

well I've just, for some reason had a mad burst of energy & scrubbed the bathroom to within an inch of it's life (even getting on my hands & knees with a knife to remove the old glue where we've recently taken the other flooring up), tidied (very vaguely) the kitchen, given the christmas tree a drink & vacced the front room & hall. Now back to no energy again!!
Going back to what Merlin said, daughter had a phone call from her mate who was just driving home past homebase, her mate was crying. She'd just gone past an accident & the body was still there, covered with a blanket. What made it wore for her was that the blanket was surrounded by carrier bags. Obviously someone rushing around trying to finish the last of thier christmas shopping. Daughter phoned her hubby (who she'd been moaning at about not being able to get to argos to pick something up) & told him to come straight home after work. nothing is worth that & it makes you appreciate what you've got.
So stay safe everyone & take care.

A sobering thought Gina. That poor family.:-(
18-12-2010 3:22 PM
OK, now I need some advice! have found evidence of a mousie under the sink (& it's not one of Catknitters), there must be a mouse entrance somewhere there as it's the same place we had one in the spring. we have a humane trap, which catches them alive & the one we caught in May was taken over to the park & released. Now though, I'm gonna feel guilty if I release one into the snow! What do I do with it when we catch it? I did think of putting it in the shed where it may be a bit warmer (I'm a total softy), any advice?

That is really sad Gina - some poor family are going to have a very sad christmas.
Regards you're mouse - if you release it outside it will come back inside somewhere. We always use the traps were the only release they have is into the compost bin!!

Any mice in my house get poisoned...sorry!

:_| The accident.
It's obvious gina, set the trap and in the couple of days it will take to catch it, merlin will have knitted it a nice warm jumper and matching bobble hat, and then you can let it out in the park.:-D

Thats very sad Gina, not a nice sight for anyone to see.
And that poor family 😞
There is so much stress and rush at this time of year, it's hard for people to take a slower pace.
Re mices, i'm soft too, i would put it in the park and hope it finds a warm shelter beneath leaves, bushes and any paper/cardboard.

LOL at Gina and her mouse - they have fur to keep them warm 😉
Very sad to hear about the accident - puts everything into perspective.
I have just been moaning at OH. I have done so many things today - made fudge, chocolate mints, Malacoff and cooked a chicken. Washed floors and tidied up. He had 2 jobs - paperwork, and to change the bathroom light switch (which keeps jamming)
He has just started the paperwork, and the light switch isn't done yet. ( I need to finish the vacuuming) I am finished, so I've told him he can clear up after himself. He isn't impressed 😉
