oh pcc...I feel so sorry for you, & it must be so scary 😞
I hope they can come up with some answers for you :-x
mags...it's shocking that your mum's notes haven't been passed on. I don't understand hospital management these days.
I'm wet & cold...had the dogs out.

Mags thats awful.......imagine if it were medical records that had not been passed on and you were given a drug you are allergic to.
PCC get on to them quick smart and tell them you are not seeing any improvement and ask what alternative treatments they have available to you.
I'm cream crackered today, spent all yesterday up and down to the loft to find all the lights and deccys and then decorated the pub as is always done the last weekend in November.
Some of the town pubs have already had theirs up for weeks but I think thats far too early, even think its a little soon now but as next Sat will be the 1st it has to be done.

Don't know where that piccy went the 1st time
26-11-2012 12:26 PM
Oh dear PCC, have you googled? maybe it's one of those things that's not as bad as it sounds. 😞
26-11-2012 12:52 PM
So sorry to hear that PCC, hopefully although you have been told its not curable .... is it something that can be eased, slowed down, held at bay through medication/surgery ?
maybe I'm choosing the wrong words but I'm sure you know what I'm trying to say 🙂
sending a big hug your way :-x

It is the gland that is the problem so it hopefully should not damage your eyesight. There is some interesting stuff on the net.:-) Sending hugs.:-x
I know how worrying it can be as I was told I had Macular Degeneration this year which will gradually diminish my eyesight.:-(
26-11-2012 1:15 PM
Thanks everyone :-x
Maggie is right , yes its the glands in my eyes that should produce a substance to help tears stay on the eye surface , without them the eye can be scratched leading to problems with vision .
Only treatment is to try to help maintain the gland function by eye massages morning & night after using a special eye bag warmed in the microwave . Plus applying a gel called Viscotears .
I have always had watery sore eyes & was initially told it was blocked tear ducts that's why i was referred to the hospital optician.

That must be so uncomfortable Von. I hope you can get it under control.

It seems you can help slow it down though:

Yes I am doing all the right things.:-) I am taking Retinex every day & I eat plenty of green veg & don't smoke. I can't stop it but I can slow it's progression. My mum had it & was registered blind in the end al though she had a little periphery vision remaining. No good fretting over what you can't change.:-)
