Evening, just passing through to the food free zone! Buggered up the diet tonight as best friend next door neighbour came round with a bottle of wine. Since I am so out of the habit of drinking at the moment I ruined the dinner and couldn't eat it! Result! Calorie count still OK! OH and boys not that impressed though. Oh well.

When I lost weight with SW I had my wine just the same. If you don't eat enough you wont lose weight. Your body stops burning the calories if you don't feed it. Eat loads of stuff until you are feeling full but make it veg, fruit, meat & fish. I had two slices of granary bread a day too. I lost 2 1/2 stone.

THE FHG SEWING THREAD :-D

Hello to all you lovely bonkers ladies 😛

Have had a quick read back and just wanted to send good wishes and hugs to Mags' Mum and Gina's Mum too - it must be so difficult for you to cope with the worry when you have to deal with all the other things in your own lives too.  I hope that they are being/will be well looked after :-x  It is also lovely to see the devotion you have towards them, that is something special.

Loving all the makes - saw some owls elsewhere too (CB?) - liked the candlestick/pin cushion idea - I'll have one of those if you please.  Altho' never thought I'd see Maggie and tat in the same sentence ]:)  Just being a besom.  Like the ice cream hat Merc, good for you, especially if you haven't knitted for yonks.  Don't listen to them - cherry on top - pfft - specially not kitten - lights - she won't stop at lights, it'll be lights, christmas tree, bells and a santa and maybe more.  Just leave it be.  Try the muffler thingy, it's easy, honestly. I like Ruby as a name too.  Enjoy Harrogate, I went to a big flower show there years ago and it was a lovely day out.

I've been having a bit of a rotten time, but got through it and I'm still here 😄  TMI to go through but honestly I was just so fed up with everything going wrong, but there is nothing I can do, I just have to keep going and that's that.

I have scheduled listings for MDCC Sunday but still cannot get my other ID's Paypal address to work, which means I can't get paid and then pay the charities.  Worked out ok once before but only because it was PurplePenny who was the buyer and helped me with how to sort it.  So will I be sacked from MDCC if I put on 6 instead of 5??  Have been onto CS and PP, which was a complete waste of time.

I'm off to have a cuppa, I can't drink alcohol any more.  Cheap date, 2 gins and I'm legless.  You should be on steroids huggles - 9lbs I've put on in 7 weeks - I'll be a blob by Christmas.  Also a hello to Kate/Tara - you keep going too kiddo.

:_| you are all saying sensible things but I seem to have a strange metabolism ! I've never been on a diet before and I think my body is shocked. It's not like I'm asking it to half it's size! It's only 10lb then I will let it do its own thing!

towery - when PurpleP tried to pay me (and she knows what she's doing) - the usual - send money - gift - the money just sits there - unclaimed - no symbols change colour - nothing - the email address is correct (I use it for other stuff).  No-one can give me an answer, except - 'it should work' - duh!  In the end she paid me through my other Paypal address, but I couldn't have all that palaver if it wasn't one of the usual FHGers.

Don't give me anything priceless M. - I'm a hopeless butterfingers - decorators are in and I moved a Lladro (big expensive one), Lady with a Rose is now Lady Without a Rose.  B**ger. Needless to say nowadays I don't really give a stuff, whereas I'd have been at least a bit upset before :^O

I found the first diet I went on when I was 35 worked ok. Subsequent ones worked less and less and now I just don't bother because you end up bigger than you were to start with.:-(

Glad you're feeling better RDW.  Those steroids certainly play havoc with your weight.  Hubby's face went all moon shaped because he was taking  20 tablets in the twelve hours before chemo, every three weeks.  It's gone down again now that he's only on one a day, so it's not permanent.:-)

Thanks CG - I was on 20 - which after the lung/pneumonia hospital stay they have reduced (this time) to 10 - beginning of December I go back onto 20.

I have chipmunk cheeks and a pot belly 😮  I've never really had to diet, although I am, or try to be, careful what I eat.  I am finding though that the steroids increase my appetite - does hubby have that?  I never used to eat between meals or any extras but now feel hungry enough that I have to.
