Sundays Sizzling supper

We will be having Roast Chicken with bread sauce, carrots, parsnips and savoy cabbage. With apple and blackcurrant lattice pie and custard for pudidng.  Has to be chicken as fussy son doesn't like red meat, at least we will have leftovers for tomorrow.

We had Potroast beef and vegetables, Yorkshire puds and gravy, and some microwave broccoli, cauliflower and green beans. And we will have fruit crumble when we both aren't so stuffed. LOL

Life is too short so enjoy it while you can!

I'm having Gammon cooked in cola in the slow cooker.....

but.......

I didn't realise until I put the empty bottle out in the recycling some hours later that it's cherry cola....

too late to rectify......could be interesting......

Well believe it or not it was ...........

DELICIOUS ! smilie egyptian.gif

I kid you not...fruity,tangy and lush...I will be doing it again but this time on purpose ...

I decided to go with the extra sweetness and gave it a brown sugar and wholegrain mustard glaze before roasting for 15mins in the oven to finish it off....

Had it with creamy mash and garden peas...nom,nom,nom...

I've never heard of cooking ham like that, must give it a go. Would it be OK to use a diet one?

I like the thought of cherry coke...fruit goes nice with meat.
