Sending gentle, healing hugs to you Stroppy 🙂
I just can't imagine having to keep having surgery like that, you're one very brave lady and you have such a brilliant outlook too 😄
Germolene!!.........we used to use that..........pink stuff in a round tin.........I loved the smell of it........it used to get used for more or less everything 🙂
And what was that yellow anti-septic stuff that came in a tube, that they used to use in my Schools?? I used to love the smell of that too, it was always put on grazes after we'd gone feet over head in the playground which I did on a number of occasions, once even managing to break my arm :_| :-x

Well, the consultant popped in at about 2:30pm yesterday. Wound was absolutely pouring. A fair amount of swearing and cursing and he asked for a specific positive pressure dressing to be put on.
Of course they couldn't find the required dressing, so just left it. By 9:30pm I was so desperately uncomfortable lying in a huge puddle of blood that I begged them just to put any sort of dressing on. She did at least do a reasonable job of trying to clean off a lot of the old adhesive that was making everything so sore and taped some pads in place. Of course by this morning my skin has reacted to the tape that she used and there is a weeping rash. I shall ask "himself" to bring my own dressings from home and to do a d-i-y job.
It's looking like another trip to theatre next week.
Both arms are covered in a weepy rash where they've had adhesive dressings on, they then moan that they can't find a vein to take blood from.
Two of the 4 lumens on the central line are blocked.
I'm sick of being nagged at about how much I've drunk, and have I had my bowels open.
I'm not a particularly happy bunny,

Oh stroppy!:-( Is there a specialist hospital somewhere in the country that would have the proper equipment and the knowledge of how to use it? I know it wouldn't be nice being away from friends and family, but if it got the job done it would be worth it in the end.
I don't know how you put up with it, but then again, there's not a lot of choice is there?
Try and stay strong. :-x

Is that the Royal, Stroppy? (Motto - "Taking pride in caring"....)
Is there anyone who can stay with you all day and do a bit of nagging - er - reminding - on your behalf?

Reminds me of one of our suppliers who publicly claim they are "passionate" about the product and service. Umm, yes. That's why they rarely have stock of spares, when they do it isn't what we thought we ordered because the pt no anon the drawing doesn't equate to reality, then they have at least 3 separate locations which don't seem to talk to each other ...............................................
BUT at least it is not putting a lives at risk. ((((((STROPPY)))))))

That is awful Stroppy & unacceptable.:-( It makes me so angry. Try to stay strong and shout & yell all you can until they listen to you. Why are they still using the tape you are allergic to for heavens sake!!!X-( Where has common sense gone?

Why don't they just use an ordinary bandage and tie a knot in it or use a safety pin? Or even use a bandage and tape over it, if they don't know how to tie a knot or use a safety pin. Strewth.

Oh stroppy...I'm incensed for you...& quite speechless X-( at the moment.
