Good Luck stroppy...
I hope you've got your dongle :-x

That sounds really good.:-)
Trevor has been and didn't shout at anyone.
For some reason a vision of Hattie Jaques floated into my mind there.
The NHS needs more Trevors - lots and lots of Trevors. Not lots and lots of ineffective admin.
Do you think that if Trevor had been involved and sorted out your dressings right at the start you would have been home by now?

I'm glad that things are on the up Stroppy. Good on you for escaping.
Sending you yet more hugs and some for Trevor as well.

The I.V. line has been changed - the specialist nurse was lovely, very quick and didn't hurt me at all. Just waiting for an X-ray to confirm it is in the right place.
Consultant wants to monitor how much is coming out of the wound over the weekend, and will make a decision on Tuesday about the way forward.
No Trevor over the weekend, or on Monday (bank holiday) as tissue viability work "office hours".

Glad that the specialist nurse didn't hurt when she was changing the IV line. I bet you'll miss Trevor over the weekend. I don't think that certain parts of the NHS should work 'office hours'.
Fingers cross for you Stroppy.

Silly me I know that I should have put 'ed' at the end of cross. What am I like?

Good Morning world.
I've had my X-ray, so now we can use my new I.V. line. Mind you, the dressing that is SUPPOSED to hold it in place has almost fallen off already, but then again it is supposed to be changed today.
Sun is shining, so I'm planning the great escape for this afternoon.
Have been very rash and have ordered a "pud" at lunchtime - let's see how dire the hospital custard is!

I reckon you could use the custard to keep your dressing on 😉

So long as it is custard...
Still love the memory of a colleague's face when he realised that the chocolate sauce he'd ladled over his pudding was actually gravy.
(Both custard and gravy were apparently made on Monday in the canteen, and got thicker as the week wore on - so as it was Friday, it was a fairly understandable mistake...)

giggles at the chocolate sauce / gravy.
Custard was actually not bad - both hot and runny, no quarter inch thick skin. Might risk the apple crumble tomorrow.
Had a lovely afternoon at home, did my mdcc listings, all ready for tomorrow.
Every time that I go out it is a little easier, so it is well worth doing.
Consultant is not going to be happy, he wants less that 50ml per day coming out of the wound, and it was at least 150ml today.

CB, I don't think that any of our hugs are working but here's some more in the hope that they work.
((((((((((stroppy)))))))))

Thanks for the hugs. Absolutely shattered, but had a lovely afternoon at home. Everything just seems so much effort
26-05-2013 9:39 PM
Glad that you enjoyed your afternoon at home Stroppy. You've been through a lot so you're bound to feel that way.
If hugs will help to get you better, then we will keep sending them to you.

I am ON the bed, showered, clean and ready to face the day's challenges. I have a backdated sick-note for 4 weeks - work will be so delighted.
Waiting for the consultant to come round and give his verdict and tell me what the plan is - and more importantly when I can go home.
28-05-2013 10:45 AM
Fingers crossed for you Stroppy.:-D

I am NOT a happy bunny. Consultant never came round yesterday. SHO has popped in this morning, but I still have no idea what the plan is, or when I can go home.
Trevor came yesterday and went ballistic as instead of letting me get back INTO bed after my shower, they made me lie on the top, on a synthetic textured cover. Trevor was also not happy that someone had stuck a dressing over my healing pressure sore - he wants the air to get to it to aid healing.
I am currently waiting for someone to help me to go to the loo - I "buzzed" for assistance 25 minutes ago.
