I too will be using some of these ideas. All so good. Great find merc1_clocks. 
The coat hanger is a really good idea for storing the christmas tree lights around. I so like the hanging ornaments from light fittings, and a great idea there storing tubs of ice-cream in the plastic bags.
I've always put baubles in egg boxes and then wound the lights round the egg box. (Never been short of egg boxes!) I'll try the icecream in plastic bags too, I love it when you open a new box and it's soft.
