Got a lamb stew bubbling away in the ol' slowie.  I love mine - do you use yours much?  Any tips?

Have a large and small one and even when it is just the 2 of us I use the big one.  Just start at the bottom and fill it up, then fill some tubs, freeze and eat once a week until finished.  With son at home it doesn't work - he just eats the lot!.  Did think of doing a nice pork stew today but waiting in for TNT man who is later than usual so by time I get out it'll be casseroled instead.

I asked my diabetes nurse about rice pudding and she said it was a no no!

Rose, there's only one of me so I make a load and freeze the rest.  Actually I try to make enough for one but inevitably it's enough for a regiment.  I've also got a tiny one-person slowie but the big one get most use as I tend to buy lots of veg from the reduced section of the supermarket.  Ker-ching.  The lamb was half price btw, can't justify buying that at full price

Sorry just seen this,,thanks Mouse,,yes i should do that ,half the time its me being lazy. It is an enormous Crock though,,we used to do stews when my ex was living here and he left it among other things for me to use.

Love mine, curry, chilli, bolognaise stews, caseroles, love rice pudding done in it. Cook Gammon, have even done a brisket with carrots and onions.  makes the kitchen smell lovely.  Mine is only a cheapy from Mr. T, £12.00 it cost.

why???? if you reduce the sugar a bit, and have it after a salad you are only having your carbs after your meal. My doctor told me you can have a sweet if you have it after a high carb meal as the carbs can deal with the sugars!!!!

see what us diabetics mean about conflicting information??
