Shopping at Sainsburys

As part of my christmas present my dad has given to me a voucher to spend at Sainsburys - can only be used in the main shop not for petrol or at the kiosk.

I dont normally use Sainsburys so I am asking you lovely ladies (and gents) out there what I can buy at Sainsburys that is recommended and is a little out of the ordinary. My fruit and veg I buy from a local independant greengrocers and I have the large chicken already in the freezer so need lots of other bits and bobs.

Well you might need a few rashers of bacon, some cranberries, foil, puddings of various descriptions.

If you like gin they have Bombay Sapphire litre bottles for £18 which is madly cheap.

Sainsburys own salad dressings are really nice and well priced. There is an orangey coloured one which is coriander and chilli I think which is lush. 

Also their basic frozen fruit is really good value - love the bag of mixed red berries for about £1.40.

Also have a look at their homeware which often has offers - some of the candles and decorative home bits are lovely.  Sometimes they have good deals on book and cds - specially this time of year.

Their household and kitchenware is excellent and very reasonable. I also buy quite a lot of clothing there too. Costume jewellery is also lovely.

Or you could sell it at face value to someone you know shops there and would spend it anyway. Result!

I shop there mostly and was going to say their clothes are often very nice and reasonably priced.

I don't buy anything usually that is that unusual, but their redcurrant jelly is lovely.  Or they do some

nice ice creams.  Seasonal stuff - vol-au-vant cases (frozen) make a nice meal with some

chicken in white sauce in and roast potatoes or salad.

You could go in there when you get a chance and have a mooch about, see what they've got.

I do main shopping in Sainsburys. at this time of year they have nice Pannetone cakes and Baklava selections or general choclate cake selections.

You can get womens toiletteries Mandarin Spa??,, lovely if you want to treat yourself?.

Candles or room scenter things,, they have a lovely selection at the moment.

Or nibbles things like more luxury nuts or dates?.

Alcoholic drinks ?, i went i yesterday to buy a bottle of wine,, they have some gift boxy things of Whisky, tequila or wines?.

They do very good downies, actually all the homeware items I have had from them have been good!

The selection depends on what size of store you have near.  Their online "click and collect" is good too
