Patio Paving with effect of dog urine

Hi ebayers,

We are thinking of a large patio area in our garden - Sandstone Paving, but have heard that it is porous and can absorb dog urine.  As we have dogs, as anyone experienced this issue? 

Would a Sealant work?  Or would anyone recommend a different type of Paving?

Teach the dogs not to urinate on the patio - there's nothing there to break it down (the urine, I mean, not the patio)

I am teaching one of our dogs not to poop on the terrace - I pick it up obviously, but it's still not a place to do it
