Making that quip about Rolf Harris' Two Little Boys got me wondering about other celebrities who sang a couple of numbers and then feded into the sunset never to be heard of again.
Let's start off with Two Little Boys, then
Grandad with Clive Dunn,
All Around My Hat - an Irish group,
Whispering Grass with Bon Estell and Windsor Davies,
Thank You Very Much (for the Aintree Irons),
Winchester Cathedral,
Domonique, by some singing French nun with a guitar,
The chimes of Suki Yaki - a Japaneses group, sung in both Japanese and English,
I remember Natalie, by Bob Monkhouse.
Any others?

"Thank you very much " was by The Scaffold, who also had hits with Lily the Pink and Liverpool Lou. And they also recorded the theme tune to the Liver Birds.

@5129frederick wrote:I've exhausted all the one hit wonders I can think of, but one in particular has to stand head and shoulders over all the rest - The Clapping Song by Shirley Ellis. Why? Because of the words - they are rubbish in capital letters
First verse goes Three, six, nine, the goose drank wine,The monkey chewed tobacco on the streetcar line,
The line broke, the monkey got choked,
And we all went to Heaven in a little row boat.
And so it goes on. Not one single word makes any sense.
That was taken from a children's playground song.

Had a girlfriend living in Stoke Newington in the early 80s and in the evenings she worked in a pub with a reggae sound system ... deafeningly loud with all the latest white labels from Jamaica, and a string of DJs toasting over them. What with that and sharing a house with a DJ who got regular deliveries of white labels from St Pauls in Bristol, and far to many nights spent at blues around Bradford drinking Red Stripe or Guiness, eating goat curry or saltfish and akee and inhaling the fragrant herbal substances being smoked, I got heavily into dub reggae. And then started moving back to its roots. Lost my collection of whites a long time back but youtube is helping me rediscover them.

I like "Red, Red, Wine" by UB40; am a big fan of Reggae.
Apart from "Sugar, Sugar" (which I still love for personal reasons) did the Archies sing anything else?

Talking about children's playground songs, does anybody know the title to the song sung at the start of the police series - a few years ago now, Rockcliff's Babies? Listened hard as I could, I couldn't understand one word of what they were singing. Whatever it was, though, it sounded quite catchy.

Rock-a-bye baby in a tower block
Your mum's on the social , dads in the dock
Your mums in arrears so the council will call
Down will come mother, baby and all.
Rock-a-bye baby you're not to blame
Your dad's doing time and mums on the game
When Dads let out your mother will fall.
You'll have a kid sister, cradle and all.
