Off to the dentists tomorrow

Going to a new dentist tomorrow. Bit the bullet and changed to a private dentist. Need a lot work doing thanks to last dentist. Goodness only knows how much it will cost. We have insurance so that covers most of the cost.

Tomorrow will be a checkup and assessment,

Will probably spend a lot of time there.

Wish me luck. Forgot to say I hate the dentists.

A man went to the dentist and after looking in his mouth, the dentist said: "Say aarrrr, please."  Baffled, the man did what he was told.  After he'd paid the bill, he asked the dentist why he wanted him to say Aarrrr.

"Surely it's something a doctor does."

"My dog died yesterday - I just wanted a bit of sympathy."  He replied.  Smiley Very HappySmiley Very Happy  Good luck, Honey.  I'll "think" of you tonight.

If you have found a good one you will eventually not mind going.:) bad dentists have a lot to answer for!

We used to have Polish lady dentist at the practice we go to and she was a horror.  I'm not racist but she lost more patients for that practice than enough.  In the end, I think that they let her go as nobody would see her.

good luck at the dentist, think in general they are much better than they used to be but horrific memories from childhood have put most of us off, hopefully the next generation won't carry that fear

You'll be fine, things have moved on probably since your last visit.  I actually look forward to it now.  Usually only need a polish .

Wow. Brilliant dentist he talked me through what had to be done and how much. I even had a cup of coffee.

I need a bridge, 2 reconstructions, 7 fillings, and 2 extractions.

Grand total if £1245. OH needs an extraction and a crown £500.
Thank goodness for insurance.

I feel much more calm now.
Most of the work to be done has resulted from the lack of care and maintenance from my previous dentist who I last saw 16 months ago.

good news that you have got a good dentist although the cost is the biggest ouch!!! My extractions are healing fast so no reason why yours won't as well, just that I can't get used to the partial denture but I thinks that's because the extraction site hasn't healed enough yet. Very impressed that you got a coffee as well - I didn't, but there again I'm nhs. So pleased you got on alright though - I always say that a dental appointment is the best laxitive I know of!

Glad that you have found a good dentist ed even though it is rather expensive.  As you say, it's a good job that you've got insurance.

Myra, I'm pleased that you're feeling better today after your visit to the dentist the other day.
