Noisy neighbours having 'fun' in the night

A good friend has just had yet another sleepless night because of her neighbour's bedtime antics.

She lives in a downstairs flat and the noise is right above her bedroom.

Bed squeeking, knocking against the wall, plus loud 'other' noises :_|:^O

She doesn't like the neighbour. They are polite to each other but that's all.

I said she should have got a broom handle and banged on the ceiling, however She didn't think they would hear and she didn't want to cause a confrontation.

Anyone else had this rather awkward situation?

Now me being me i would probavly wait until i saw neighbour in the street and enquire innocently if he/she had enjoyed their sex last night!.

Seriously would ask neighbour to oil or wax the joints on their bed.  One of our wooden ones creaks and groans but since daughter moved out it isn't an issue but will be if son stays home for any length of time. This would, politely indicate that "bedroom" noises are heard.  

If it persists then phone the council noise abatement lot.  They will take action if they have to!..

Yes.. we live in a ground floor flat, have fairly new neighbours and can always tell when the lady of house has a visitor...

our main problem with it is the noises they make are amusing.. and we struggle not to laugh loudly !

You want to live in my house when the farmer lets the Bull into the field of 'girls ' next to me...now THAT'S noisy love mahooking :^O

When our next door neighbour's adult son was 'entertaining' his girlfriend in the bedroom adjoining ours late at night, we started shouting encouragement or giving them scores on the doors - '2 out of 10 for effort', 'is it in yet?' :^O

We didn't like the neighbours though!

Given that we are detached and our neighbours are some distance I have to make a special effort to make Mrs Ex 'noisy' ...Just so the neighbours are aware that I still 'Do it'...:^O

Yes but locking her out of the house so she has to shout and bang on the doors and windows isn't quite the same mr-ex!  :^O
