Name that tune, pick yer brains time

H'okay.

Time for a bit of mental activity for all those exhausted with the relay of gastronomical festivities in indulgences.

I have been listening to the History of Secrets series on Radio 4 and there has been a little tune meandering in the background which has kept bugging me 'cos I'm sure I know what it is and definitely heard it before but................. it's that darn memory thing again.

So, you can pick it up best I think in the last episode around 4:30 onwards although it is still being played under the people speaking.

BBC History of Secrets

I know I've heard it in this format somewhere but I also think it's an electronic version of a classical piece.

No prizes I'm afraid for the winner as I've drunk all the sherry and am nearly through the sloe gin too.  Am going to do some home made sausage rolls, but not sure how long they will survive with the sloe gin.

Hmmmmmm

No divine inspiration forthcoming as yet from anyone else then?

Well, today I had a very rude awakening - no answer from the beeb over the muzak but something far removed from uplifting cultural attainments.

This is why one should never go near a workman going about his workman's business.

So, I'm not doing to well in the sleeping zone and have got a bit out of kilter with my days and being able to arise at a more reasonable hour in the morning.

I also like to have fresh air when possible in the bedroom so often have the window open even if only a bit.

Had I been up earlier, my senses would not have been so assaulted.

So, there I am, having got up for the necessary bio break but snuggled back down under the duvet still feeling far from refreshed and needing to catch up for another hour or two.

I was just falling back into deep sweet slumbers when I am abruptly and very rudely interrupted from my bliss by THE most awful and loudest splitting of the airwaves I have ever heard, from some eejit breaking wind outside my window.

I leapt out of bed and looked out of the window to find it was someone from the water board bent right over on his knees peering into the cavernous home of a water meter so clearly he was in the right position to have difficulty in controlling such expulsions, but seriously, if I had gone out just a bit earlier to ask him if he / my meter was ok, I could have been knocked back into the neighbours garden.

Still, I suppose the only good thing I can say is that I was at least well and truly awakened by the event so will hope that helps put me back into a more civilised and healthy body clock time thingwee.

I've had a couple of listens but the music is so indistinct, it's difficult to pick it out. Thing is, I find the person speaking soooooo irritating, I can't listen for long. I listened from 4:30 as you suggested but I thought it was more distinct at the beginning.

I went to bed with it going around and around in my brain last night - so close, so close and yet it's just not comging through the door of recognition yet.

Ah well, thank you for putting yourself through that, especially given that you didn't enjoy the actual programme presenter.
