Mystery plant

Anyone know what this plant is?

I planted 10 gladiolus butterfly, belinda bulbs and these long stems appeared with a funny bud on top. I've been waiting for several weeks for them to open so I can see what they are. The picture on the packet of bulbs doesn't look anything like this!

You beat me to it cg.  I'd just been looking at ornamental alliums.  Could well be those - my neighbour asked if they were onions!!  I've got about 10 and they are coming up with the gladiolus.  The seeds must have been in the packet with the bulbs.  Cheap bulbs from W....ko.:^O

I've got a couple of alliums in my garden and they're really beautiful when they're in flower, mine are like big blue pom poms, but unfortunately they haven't got any flowers on this year, only leaves. 😞

These are from a previous year but I haven't even got any stalks now.  No, just been to check, three plants with healthy looking leaves, but no sign of flowers stalks or buds.:-(

They belong to the onion family mumsie.:-)

They are definitely allliums.  We have a few in both the front and back gardens.

CG, they're agapanthus lillies you've got there, they're lovely, they come in white too.

mumsie....I think they may be teasles? alliums have a rounder head they are a bit conical. I only know a teasle when they are opening out and the birds take the seeds, I've not seen one just as it opens..

Maggie....they do like to be pot bound.

Alliums have smaller flowers than the agapanthus, but all are lovely.

I buy chive plants and put them in the garden, cheap flowers at only 79p from the herb dept!;-)

😮  Well now you mention it capt, the gardener calls them agapanthus.:8} but I did think they were rounder buds than mumsie's, but there are so many different kinds apparently                  I still don't know where the first one came from.

Did you see my first sweet pea capt???

Definitely not teazles captain as the head is soft.  I'm sure they are alliums looking at pictures on google.  Will just have to wait and see.

Another mystery - someone has just put a plant on my front doorstep!  It will be one of the neighbours but don't know which one!  Again I don't know what it is - anyone know?

I think it's the same as one I have in the front garden which doesn't really have flowers - just green bits!  Also when it rains it keeps the droplets on its leaves.
