Roast lamb steak with lots of veggies. I have steak & kidney braising in the oven for a pie & it smells gorgeous!

Re: MIDDLE OF THE WEEK foodie thread

Out to skittles tonight, hubby out and son has just said he won't be back till late, so it's everyone to get their own. I shall be eating at skittles so the men can do what they like I don't care today. Had made a cottage pie but I have just put it in the freezer for another day.

We're having pasta with home made vegetable sauce (courgette, onion, garlic, chestnut mushrooms, chopped tomatoes & runner beans), from the freezer, with grated cheese.

Re: MIDDLE OF THE WEEK foodie thread

Went to the pub on the way home from hossie - steak, chips and mushrooms. Mind you they did give me queer looks as I had my I.V. pump going.

Re: MIDDLE OF THE WEEK foodie thread

how noticeable is it Stroppy?

I haven't had any supper yet....can't be bothered really, I'm not hungry. I'll have to eat something before I go to bed though or I'll have a hypo in the night.

Re: MIDDLE OF THE WEEK foodie thread

We just had cheese toasties as we had fish, chips and peas at lunchtime and we didn't feel like a big meal for tea.

Re: MIDDLE OF THE WEEK foodie thread

Captain - how noticable is it - well it's a 6 foot high pole on a 5 star castor base (think computer chair), with 2 bags of I.V. fluid, tubes going in to a pump about 2 foot x 1 foot x 1 foot. The pump is about half way up the pole and beeps (quietly) every 5 seconds - flashing green lights too. So it's pretty noticable.

Maggie - no I didn't get my op, but I got a visit at home from the consultant. He's just about as fed up with all this as I am, and is arranging for my op to the done at the local private hossie on Friday afternoon. He's also changing the cocktail of anti-biotics, and is arranging for honey to be put in to "the hole" to kill off bugs.

That sounds like progress Stroppy. You have been messed around for long enough.

Good luck on Friday, Stroppy - hope all goes well for you this time. If your private hossie is anything like the one near here, you'll be treated like a queen so make the best of it 🙂
Love the mental image of you + drip going out for a meal ..........now that is pure class!
