Lancaster

Is anyone from Lancaster or nearby who could tell me if it's worth a visit please.

I'm staying away next week and have three free days.  I was thinking about

visiting Lancaster as I've never been.  Does anyone know if there are nice things

to see, any galleries or interesting stuff, are there any nice shops etc.

I know I can look all this up at the tourist info website but they do elaborate sometimes

and you get somewhere and it's not that good.  Local people tend to tell it as it is which

I like.

I would be going by train or bus as I'll have a coach with me but can't take that just for

a day out - too expensive.

Lancaster

you should ask rhubarb, she lives very near Lancaster....

it's a city packed with stuff to see and do, it's a university town too.

and the traffic is manic, but you won't mind that will you?

have a nice time, I think you deserve it! xx

I live just outside Lancaster and i would say it is worth a visit,, it was the county town for Lancashire, there is a castle, (just over 400 years since the witches where tried & hung) a few museums, some quaint streets, shops arn't much good, but a couple of yarn shops, I could meet you in town to show you round, Cat Happy

Lancaster

Nice little city.... worth a visit and there's some nice countryside around and about.

Wouldn't have said the traffic was that bad, but then I come from Preston, a few miles down the road and much worse roads

soft as velvet but comes with needle sharp claws
