Just in time for Christmas..........got a new job....off benefits

In February 2009 I was made redundant due to the downfall in the housing market. Have had a couple of temp jobs since then but basically had to live on the benefit system.

Have been finding it difficult to get a full time perm job since 2009 as most employers want to employ somebody still in employment.

Today i have been offered a proper full time permanent job to start on 6 January 2014. Only as an audio typist (I am a legal secretary by trade) but somebody has had the guts to give this out of work secretary a job. Wont be any better off financially...........but for my own self esteem I have taken a huge leap into the sky.

At least I can stop all this searching on line for jobs. I wont be sitting indoors in the cold either.

The bus stop is outside my house and the office is 50 yards from the bus stop in town......couldnt be more perfect.

One very very happy christmas for me. I have given myself a big pat on the back!!!

Thank you all for your lovely words. I had a great night's sleep last night knowing that I will be back in the real world. The benefits system is fine as a back up system...but there are sooooooooooo many rules and regulations that if you break you get your money stopped that it will be nice to know that i will be on my own again (I have never had my money stopped....but many have).  If my son can get a job when he leaves school then we may just be able to afford a holiday!!!!

I met all the other ladies I will be working with and they all (appear) to be the same side of 50 as I am so no blonde bimbos. I got a good feeling about the office from the moment I walked in.

What with this news yesterday and another matter I had going with the HMRC being cancelled last week....I feel like the weight I have been carrying about on my shoulders has finally gone.

Unfortunately the new job means I wont be posting on the boards so much in 2014.....but I am sure I will be excused LOL.
