Jamaica Inn

Did anyone watch Jamaica Inn last night? I was really looking forward to it but found it quite boring and kept nodding off. I'll persevere with the other 2 episodes even if only to get to sleepSmiley Happy

Re: Jamaica Inn

Watched the last one last night, only because I couldn't sleep, they said they had fixed the sound problems, don't think so the sctor that played Joss was still mumbling,

I was very disapointed, it didn't have the feeling that the book had, and it seemed to skip over most of the story making it a bit of a summary.  I felt like we had only seen half a story.

BBC you can do better,

Re: Jamaica Inn

The BBC say that 1,384 complaints were made since Wednesday taking the total to 2,182.

From what I read, it seems that viewers of films and TV drama are getting fed up with bad sound levels, loud music, mumbled dialogue and over dramatised scenes.

I think all film makers, whether for the big screen or TV should remember that what they're making is supposed to be appealing to the viewers and they should forget about trying to be "arty".

Re: Jamaica Inn

I persevered with it and watched the last episode, and couldn't make out some of the dialogue; I've never read the book so can't compare it to anything. Have to find something else to nod off to now....ZZzzzzzzzzzz

Re: Jamaica Inn

So why on earth was something about Cornwall set and filmed in Yorkshire and Cumbria?

No disrespect to those places but surely it should have been filmed on the place it was

about!  I only wanted to see bits of Cornwall, wasn't bothered about the mumbling storyline

which was probably nothing like it was supposed to be.  But no Cornwall that I could see and

they certainly didn't seem to have Cornish accents, not like the ones I've heard anyway.

The standard of tv seems to be getting lower and lower now, even things like this they can't

seem to do properly.  I must admit I like Fiona Bruce as a presenter though, I think she's really

nice, though I'll admit she's quiet but I don't think she mumbles particularly.

However, it was still tons better than some of the deplorable rubbish they put on that hypes

everyone up so they scream - that's just pathetic.

Re: Jamaica Inn

I think most of the good drama is on Sky now.

Re: Jamaica Inn

Admits to not watching Jamaica Inn but there were several complaints in the paper this week.  From what has been said, the complaints are well founded.

Re: Jamaica Inn

I watched it.  I didn't have a problem with the sound at all.  I haven't read the book, but I thought it was very forgettable
