I'm home!!!!!!

Hi everyone, thanks for all your good wishes! I got discharged on Saturday morning after the op on Thursday. I was admitted at midday but didn't get into theatre until 4pm. The wait was pretty stressful, especially as the anaesthetist had talked me into having a spinal with a bit of sedation. :O.............and the surgeon said she was going to conduct a perineal repair at the same time.....:_|

Everyone was lovely and I was awake for the hole op. a bit surreal, being pushed about with a bit of rummaging, and not being able to feel anything.......very odd. Apparently having it done this way is better as there is less blood loss and they don't have to breathe for you.

All was fine, until I projectile vomited during the night, narrowly missing the night staff!!

Any way, enough of that, I'm feeling fine, taking things easy as instructed. If anyone offers you a hysterectomy with a spinal, grab it with both hands................never thought I would hear myself say that!!!

Well done hypno!  Haven't had a hysterectomy but I had my hip done with a spinal and I would have one every time!!  Take it easy and let everybody wait on you, you might feel guilty at first if you're not used to it, but force yourself and it gets easier!!!:^O

You may jest merc1, but I actually felt I looked slimmer when I got up yesterday! I think that it's  due to starvation as my husband can't cook (does frozen peas in the oven scenario) and we are living on  ready meals 

...............yuck .....
