I'll be losing my job at the end of July as the firm I work for is closing down.
I love my job and I love working for those people, I can fully understand
their reasons but nevertheless feel very sad.

Fishy, it's like I've said many times on here - we all may act daft and be silly beggars but at the end of the day, we are all here for one another. Never feel like you are moaning. You are among friends here and if you want a moan, you go ahead and moan.

Very sad news. There aren't many people out there who enjoy what they do but when you lose a job you love, just awful. So sorry fishpieface. Hope you find another you grow to love.

Thank you all who have added kind comments since yesterday. I'm honoured to have
so many lovely friends on here.
LOL Leoleo, love that idea! If I swim all that way it'll be a miracle! Great fun though.
Arti, you have an excellent point there in that, without endings, there would be no new
beginnings.
We were discussing this morning all the things I could drive if I couldn't get on the
coaches again, it started being sensible like buses etc. Then it degenerated into
a daft discussion involving helicopters, hovercrafts, trains, the Underground and
even the aquatic vehicle that does tours in London both on land and in the river
Thames!! Son suggested I just drive my 19 yr-old car and set up in business,
calling it rust bucket taxis!!
If I couldn't get back into driving anything, I'd like to be an outdoor swimming pool tester (!!)
or go round places assessing their suitability to take coach tours. The latter is slightly
more feasable I think. Or I could make fused glass all the time. I'm getting carried away
now.
I need carrying away now I hear you say LOL!

Of course you don't need carrying away fishie.

amongst all the silly discussions you will find a couple of brilliant ideas get thrown into the mix which will result in another door being opened for you. there is a great future out there just waiting for you to find it, it may take a little while but just keep looking and you will find it. Good luck x
