I CAN'T I JUST CAN'T

I've been a good dirl and all my cupboards and bookshelves are in apple pie order.  Well, except the shoe cupboard in teeny weeny writing that won't get noticed.  Have put all the unwanted CD and DVDs to the charity shop, but I cannot bring myself to get rid of the last of the videos, which even charity shops won't take any more.

How can I put John Lennon in the bin, or Robin Williams in Dead Poets (Captain, my captain **sobs**)?  Or Dusty Springfield, it's heresy!  Isn't there anywhere that recycles them?  It just seems such a watse. What have you done with yours?

video's were our new technology weren't they Maggie. I remember us going to buy a video recorder...it cost £400!!!! I still have the box as I put the Christmas wreath from the mantlepiece in it....

it was the start of the technology revolution for our age group so it's harder for us I think.

We bought our first video to record Charles and Diana's wedding whenever that was.  Can't remember now.  We record anything we want to watch now on the Tivo box.

Try the local allotments as they make ideal bird scarers tied around stakes in the garden.

Any local childrens homes or residential homes that still have a video player.

I used to have a set up where I could watch videos on my PC not having a TV, I could also transfer them to DVD along with audio tapes to mp3 but it is a laborious process and when I had to move to a much smaller place, I hardened my heart and they all went into the skip.

I am not sorry.Smiley Happy

Our Morrisons have a video recycling bin and a CD recycling bin.

Ask your local council recycling dept if they have one, or where the nearest one is if they don't

When people were asking about recycling, I assume they meant someone who would use them and watch them

With the recycling bins, they dont do that, they just open the cases, take out the tape and recycle the plastic containers.

To me, that is not recycling, that is destruction.

It keeps them out of landfill so it is recycling. I took all my cassettes to the charity shop but they might have thrown them out.
