Home made christmas decorations

At the moment I am drying out some oranges ready to use to decorate the christmas tree. I cut them into slices and dry out on the radiator then I hang them from the tree to use natures natural ingredients. I also have some pine cones picked from the woods.

Does anyone else have any good ideas for cheap/free decorations that come from Mother Nature.

Any hints and tips very much appreciated.

I am going to a wreath making workshop next month so I will be taking lots of greenery for that. I like the orange slices strung up with cinnamon sticks too.

Cinnamon sticks..............think I have some in the cupboard. Excellent.

Actually my friend has a plethora of Holly bushes in his garden....will think of some uses for that

What about using some rose hips. They are usually red.

I used to do strings of cranberries and popcorn.

take a couple of cinnamon sticks, wrap a piece of ribbon around them.

popcorn makes a really cheap garden.

you could make some felt deccies....but to be honest, you can pick up deccies in the stores now 99p for 6!!!!! how cheap is that?? I got 4 long deccies all sparkly for the tree outside for only 99p today.
