With the ongoing problems of getting a wee bit older i am having problems with my hair LOL. A few years ago i lightened it with a high lift blonde and i really loved it but it has wreaked havoc with my hair. I have had to grow it out and go back to a milder formof blonde which i am not really happy with but i have very frizzy bits and all these bits on the edges all sticking up right at the ends. I have had all the blonde cut out, i condition it with special packs ect but nothing helps. When it was blonde i had it straightened a lot with straighteners and most people or hairdressers said it was not that bad but its hopeless!!. That must have added to the damage. Is there anyone who knows how to cut frizz and get your hair back to a healthy look?. I still permanently colour it?, and wondered if semi permanent colour on it would be better?. Seeing as though pinks and various other semi colours are all the rage at the moment maybe this would make it more silky?. Or does anyone know of a really blonde colour that will not damage it?, or a salon treatment/. I know they do glossing or something do they not?. Advice would be welcome?. Thanks. 🙂

I have coloured my hair since I was 12 - I am now 63 and blonde. Its "natural" colour now is white at the front and grey the rest. I do the roots every 4-6 weeks leaving on for 20 mins then pull rest of colour through onto ends. I wash and condition twice a week and let dry naturally. I have used lots of different makes but for past couple of years use the one by "Ding Dong A*** Calling"
Perhaps I am lucky that I don't use straighteners or any other chemicals but I am told when I have it cut what excellent condition it is in. Perhaps the only way forward is to have a good professional cut and then start again. I have found that certain shamppos and conditioners are not very good though and some leave my hair feeling and looking rough. I am never sure whether the trend to wash hair daily is good or not. Hope this helps a bit.

Thank you both. Yes i let my hair dry naturally most of the time and wondered if perhaps i should blow dry but it goes even worse like Crystal Tips that cartoon character if i do LOL. I am wondering if the bits sticking up on the ends are where maybe it has not been cut properly ( hope my hairdressers not on here :O). Maybe i need to go somewhere more upmarket. i wash mine every other day. Its dry when i wash it but goes greasy quickly after a couple of days, MADDENING!!!. I will look at that link hightara, thank you. Any other advice from Hair lovers would be welcome?.:-)

I've heard that washing it too often makes it more greasy. Stimulates the grease making ......thingies.:-D

If you leave the conditioner on your hair it tames frizz. Yes I mean leave it on, no rinsing off at all after applying.
Get a good cut.........see if the local barber will cut it for you..........I haven`t been to a ladies hairdresser for 40 years.
