now then....I have this new variety of hydreanga with lovely white flowers. When I bought it last year it had flower heads about 6" across. This year is miniaturized itself!!! It is in a sunny position, has erricaceous compost, well watered etc etc.
Sooooo guys, why is it doing this?
answers please, I fankyou.

Our hydrangeas started off small earlier on but now they are flowering a treat so I don't know what the problem is CB. Sorry I can't help.

Mine did the same last year, but this year they are back to their big blousy selves, I did water them last year but I think because it was so hot they didn't get enough water deep enough. they are lovely and bluey purple this year so heavy with flowers we can hardley walk up the steps. We have 2 lace caps as well and one is fabulous and the other puny so I can only think it is a variation in the soil. I have just bought a new one that has 3 different colours on it and I can't wait untill it gets bigger.
