it's really weird, as the leaves are smaller, the flower heads are only about 2" across and just starting to open!! it looks like a toy!!!!!

Garden question.....

Mine did the same last year, but this year they are back to their big blousy selves,  I did water them last year but I think because it was so hot they didn't get enough water deep enough.  they are lovely and bluey purple this year so heavy with flowers we can hardley walk up the steps.  We have 2 lace caps as well and one is fabulous and the other puny so I can only think it is a variation in the soil.  I have just bought a new one that has 3 different colours on it and I can't wait untill it gets bigger.

Garden question.....

it is a new variety that was discovered in a garden centre in the Netherlands. I had to register online when I bought it but you can't contact them hmmph!!

I think I'll dig in a bit of erricaceous compost again and see if that perks it up a bit.

mybe this year is the year it gets the hump!!!
