Pasta bake with ham, onions & pepper in a tomato sauce.  Probably do peas or something with it - small dish too small, large dish too big for 3)

Nothing wrong with mango and pineapple rice pudding mercs! Smiley Wink

I'm on a fish fest at the moment, can't get enough of it!!  Hubby brought two big pieces of fresh fish along with the fish and chips from the fish shop yesterday.  I had mine today but hubby was sick so only managed a scrambled egg.  It was lovely!! heart

What IS the difference between stew, casserole and hotpot?  We have 'stew' and I put in it, meat, onion, stock, potato, carrot, swede, turnip, parsnip, celery, sometimes pulses, sometimes pearl barley, flavourings such as cubes, garlic, curry powder, and anything else I can think of.  I do it in a big pan on the hob.  I sometimes do dumplings but apart from that I don't serve it with anything, no mash or other veggies, we have a big bowlful each and it's delicious.  How do the other two differ?  I've always wondered.  Woman Happy

I tend to call it stew if it's done on the hob & casserole if done in the oven. Also stew has lots of ingredients & casserole often has just meat, mushrooms & onions with the veg done separately. That's just me though.

Yep! I would agree with that, but I think it just depends on where you come from as to what you call it, does it matter it all tastes good no matter how you describe it,.( yummy ! Real comfort food!! )I shall be doing a comparison tasting later. lol

Stew has the potatoes cooked in it and casserole has the potatoes cooked seperately. Here any way.
