My 6 year old rescue cat is still nervous and hiding under the bed

I have read about this on a number of sites.

Does anyone know if it acturally works.

It doesn't work for everyone but it did for my cats.  It's not cheap but I feel anything that can help should be considered.  I had to integrate a tomcat into a household of one tom and one queen, and it did the trick as regards stopping the fighting, but they aren't all friends even now; they've found how to compromisefc       sz

I also found Feliway a big help when one boy cat had nervous cystitis.  It calmed him down.

Feliway is a little hit or miss, with some cat it will help but not all. Sorry to say it is one that you have to try to find out. It can be an expensive trial and error.

Feliway is a good product but there are alternatives such as Valerian root. This again however works with some cats and not with others.

As mouse says it is expensive stuff but well worth a try.  I have used it and found it quite effective.  I suggest you try web sites first because vet's will be more expensive.

We had a collar that emitted this for our puppy when we rescued her. It cost £25 and if it calmed her diwn then goodness only knows what she would have been like without it.

I have friends who have used it on rescue cats and it seemed to work.

Thats a good idea Maggie our old cat loved hers.
