Just wondered if anyone had used a Dry Cooker and what they thought to it? It cooks like an oven with little or no oil. I just thought it might be an economical way of cooking when we are having to watch the pennies. Any comments gratefully received.

I love my actifry...but chips do take a wee bit longer.

I went to a friends house and they had cooked chips in an actifry and the smell was horrible - I couldn't believe how greasy it smelt considering how much little oil was used.

I bought one of those halogen oven thingies, no oil needed, cooked a chicken in it took just as long as a conventional oven....it is now in the garage with all the other useless gadgets ive bought over the years

I bought a Halogen oven a few years ago; wasn't impressed with it. Yes, mine took just as long to cook things as a conventional oven too. It broke after a couple of uses, so got my money back, wouldn't buy another one. I've got a pressure cooker, which cuts down on cooking time, but at the end of the day, I still prefer to use my gas cooker.

My brother bought my parents a Halogen cooker a few years ago and they use it all the time, mum makes cakes in it, roast dinners, all sorts. it does seem to be quicker and it saves them putting the big oven on.
Don't know about the Actifry, I don't fry a lot anyway, mostly oven cooked for me.
