Oh my goodness!  We will be getting series 4 soon.....I can't wait! 

Have you heard that series 5 has been commissioned already?  I am in my element.  ITV has given Golden Handshakes to Lord Grantham (Hugh Boneville), Lady Grantham (Sadie the rocker), Lady Mary, Branston (the chauffeur) and the Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith).

Julian Fellowes (writer) gave an interview recently and said that he tried to save Matthew.  He didn't want the Christmas Special to end on a death.  But the actor who plays Matthew wouldn't agree to any of the offered story-lines.  He said it was the right time for him to leave.  Well, it wasn't in my book!  He spoilt my Christmas Day last year.

Apparently, it is far easier to write out a down-stairs actor because they just get given a new job (O'Brien) but the upstairs family would have to return for one or two episodes .

If you haven't watched Downton before - catch it on ITV3 each evening about 6pm.  They have started at series 1 again.  I am watching and enjoying it all over again..... and I have all the DVDs which are nearly worn out now!

I am gripped already ..... and the trailers for this Sunday look intriguing (Matthew has left a letter for Mary)

What havoc is Edna going to cause as the new nannie?  (She had a 'thing' for Tom Branston and was dismissed in series 3)

Lady Rose is going to be a right handful isn't she? 

..........and as for Lady Edith.... hmmm.... a married man as a suitor.... moving to Germany.

I am counting down the hours to Sunday 9pm already.

Oh yes brilliant stuff,  Did I read that Tom and Lady Mary get closer .........................

Yes you did .... but perhaps only because they are both widowed with young children (and then have to work closely together to manage the Downton Estate).  Lady Mary gets two suitors in this series - not counting Tom Branston.
