Deno's Diary Part 3, A new Chapter

Deno (proper name De Novo) was adopted by FHG posters in 2005 when one of them, Shebalator, rescued him from slaughter.

Then - 700lbs underweight with a broken jaw and multiple other ills.




2008 - still struggling with sarcoids but finally fit enough to have a light rider up for the first time so he could
join his mates on a jaunt round the local lanes



2009 - due to sheb’s declining health, a new home was sought for Deno.
A very brave ebayer named upthecreekyetagain ( very apt name I think you will agree) agreed to take him on.
So, now Deno lives in Surrey with the Creeky family, plus 3 lovely mares. He has 5 acres of grass and orchards to roam in and is very happy.



His sarcoids still remain a problem, but a new vet is investigating them further to decide on the best course of palliative care.

Deno is reliant on fundraising and donations for his food, medicines and all the things that make his world that bit nicer.

Adam,  Thats lovely......but it looks like he's only got 3 legs!  Can you imagine!!   He has enough trouble  on all 4 :_|

Sorry guys and gals but his passport say his DOB is 1/5/1998

I can't manage three birthdays a year for him 😮

At least some of his papers had it as 7th March at one point because I remember seeing them.  I've got a scan somewhere I'm sure.   But it would indeed be just typical  to find he's a taurus not a pisces!

Could the 1st May be some kind of official birthday for legal purposes???

I don't know enough about his early history to comment about legal dates of foaling but on Lulu's passport this is given as her actual birth date.

He was examined by the vet on the 11/3/05 so that he could be issued a passport and it is on this report that his date of foaling was given as 1/5/98.

In Posh's passport where we know even less of her history the date of foaling is ginen as "believed to be 1997"  - so she doesn't have a birthday 😞

I spoke with Sheb earlier.......

When she first applied for a passport for him she was given 7th March as his birthdate BUT some while afterwards she was given his original passports (for some reason 2 of them) and they both had 1st of May as his birthday.

Its very likely the first one was a mistake, but by then we had done birthday auctions for him and the 7th had been firmly established as his birthday so she figured it wasn't important........ after all,  Deno wouldn't care what day he got his Polo's on as long as he got them! 😄

So, it looks like he really is a Beltane babe 😮     Just don't let him NEAR a maypole :_|

So what if the Queen has an official birthday and a real birthday?  You get your adoption date (14th Feb) and you still want TWO more birthdays.
