Just wanted to wish you well with your op tomorrow and say I will be thinking about you :-x

Will do in a sec Maggie.
Chickengrandpa just came and brought some lovely rude funny cards. Thank you very much ladies (and perhaps even a man) for taking the time to send them. They really cheered me up.
How long do these medical peeps work? There's a young German doctor (calls everyone darling) and says she likes my sense of humour. She was the one who spotted that one lung didn't sound the same as the other one and insisted, even after the ecg showed nothing, the lung xray showed nothing that I still needed a cat scan. She seems to live here and is here at nearly midnight and here first thing in the morning. She's the one that was called at my pre assessment when the nurse couldn't get any blood.
Thank you.:-x :-x

CG ! "perhaps even a man". Now could you be questioning the gender or is it you did not expect a man to think to send a card ? 😮 :^O

Ah well rc, I didn't want to cause jealousy among all the ladies on here if I'd told them it was you, but I wanted you to know I appreciated it. Thank you.
Before I opened your card capt. I though to myself 'This would be apt to send to capt.' :^O

CG, I am quite sure none of the lovely ladies in here would have been jealous of a warm, kind lovely lady such as you receiving a card from anyone. Especially me if they knew what I looked like :^O :^O

CG - not sure they have a life. Remember sitting talking to a lovely spotty faced very very young junior Doc many years ago in the early hours. I was the only patient up and compos mentos and he was on call and a little bored. And yes he was arounf the next morning.

Morning CG.
bet they've had you awake for hours already , I hate that about hossies its the one time I think I should be allowed a lie-in and they come and prod you about at stupid o'clock 😮
Hope the bruises are subsiding and they've given you something stronger for the pain.:-x
27-04-2013 9:09 AM
Hope you're feeling more chirpy today, CG 🙂
*paints a BIG 'Disturb at your own risk' sign for CG's bed*!
The medics aren't psychic unfortunately - they don't know you hurt if you don't tell 'em so get 'em told & see if they will up your pain relief for you. You can't concentrate on getting better if pain gets in the way
Big hugs 🙂

Good morning CG, Och I'm sorry to hear you've been having such a rotten time, but it's better they found out and you get it sorted now. After my saying to you it would be all plain sailing 😐
I agree with the others ^^^^ you should be on stronger painkillers, get your daughter to ask if you don't feel up to it. Sending hugs and hope you feel better and get home soon :-x

Hello ladies, it's all go isn't it!!! Only just got on here today. Thanks, have replied rainy.:-D
Gaurdpig, I found out, she's the house doctor and does actually live in the basement!!!:O
It's still busy here. There are only 10 patients in at the moment so the nurse said last night that I'd be doing her a favour to bleep her and ask her to put the kettle on. What could I do??? It's a good job I was awake all night again or I would have had to ask for an alarm call!
The head physio lady came this morning. She brought me a pair of crutches and we went for a walk in the hall. She gave me a strap thing to put round my foot to lift it onto the bed. She said it doesn't matter about the pain, I must just remember it's not doing any damage.;\ Oh right, that's ok then. It doesn't look like I'm going home today. Son was here for a couple of hours this morning. They asked him if he wanted coffee and he said yes, then it was half an hour before they brought it and he was in a hurry to goLOL
They finally took out my canular, after flushing it out three times a day since Thursday. They never used it again anyway. The doc took blood this morning and explained in her german/Russian/South African accent, that when she's taken it she has to run away quick because it is starting to clot straight away and she has to get it in the machine quickly. She came back later and said it was going up (I think) which was good and she will tell the consultant.
Well, that's this morning's happenings so far. Ooh, and I've had my feet washed!!! My sock things (to stop clots, which obviously don't work) keep rolling down my bad leg and causing a torniquet because my knee is so swollen, but then again, so is my thigh, hip and backside!! I'm really lop-sided!!:^O

Thanks huggles, I'll try and remember that.
The surgeon just came to my room, closed the curtains and pulled my pants down. That's ok, we're friends. LOL He said the red, raised, itchy rash on my thigh, hip and buttock is just in the shape of the cover thing, I forget what he called it, but someone earlier called it a sheet with a hole, well they use adhesive to hold it in place and it's caused a reaction. He said I don't do things by halves do I.:-(

yoo hoo CG, glad you have had a wee walkie, but I think like the others ^^^^^ you must ask for stronger painkillers. Physio will say that it's not bad having the pain etc, but it still needs reducing!! don't suffer pain, you don't need to.
wow! your lunch was very well presented, the veg looked lovely. there's the difference between private and NHS....
27-04-2013 5:12 PM
CG that's great that you've had a little walk 😄 Just take it nice and steady.
Your lunch looks rather nice 😄
You have had a lot go on in one way or another, but it will all be worth it in the end I'm sure :-x
