afternoon ladies, excuse the typing, i'm doing this laying down,  I've just had my lunch,.....fisha and chips.:-D

I don't know when I can come home. A

naethetist said yes, surgeon said no, only untilm they get the warfarine right. i don't need to inject myself if i stay here a few more days. pharmacist came to tell me all about warfarine =lots of blood tests and different sized doses. i can't have cranberry juice not too much lettuce but alcoholo ok. not binging tho.

huggles, get yoyself down here. there's this really GORGEOUS bloke called Tim.  he changed my sheets, washed nmy feet and then his woman partner came and looked at my scar (down my knickers) then later he came and gave me my pills.

Have just had a sleep!  Something I NEVER do in the day, I feel ancient now.  I can't keep up with the pace, it's just one after another, nurses, doctors, anaesthetists,  physios, pharmacists, visitors,  blood tests,  food time, housekeepers,  cup of tea time, newspapers, medicines, x rays!!!  It's never ending!  I must have been told by 50 people, who they are and what they're for!

My leg is soo painful when I move it.  Apart from the wound (I don't know how big it is but the sticky plaster's about a foot long) my buttock, hip and thigh is covered in bruises, abrasions and itchy lumps and they're really swollen. When I try to move it it's just stuck solid as if it's a piece of concrete!!!  and hurts like anything.  I have to try and pick it up to get it on the bed, but I mustn't bend with my hands lower than my knees.  This is going to take some time 😮

And for the100th time, YES, I'VE HAD MY BOWELS OPEN TODAY!!!X-(

Aww sorry it hurts CG are they giving you any pain relief ?

Hubbys gran broke her hip & had  it replaced , mind she was in her mid 80's then . Once  home she had the bed downstairs & i had to help her get in at night & her leg was very heavy:|

I'm only on Paracetomol pcc, I was on Ibuprofen too but you can't take that with warfarine.

Oh dear CG.  Just Ibuprofen seems a tad stingy.  Don't know anybody who had a hip op but son had his leg broken, hip realigned and a metal plate(c/w nuts and bolts!!!) inserted and they had him on morphine followed by a codeine and something drip, then codeine pills(at which point they found out just why he kept puking and discontinued the codeine) and then he told them it didn't hurt that much anyway -  so no ta.  Best of luck to you.

take it easy CG the bruising will take a while,

they'll be more concerned with getting the warfrin right asap than what the hip looks like IYKWIM but tell them that YOU are bothered that your leg is painfull -  it might be connected to the blood clot and not the hip

you have had less sleep at night so your bod is tajing it whiile it can

I know that we all want to get home, but don't rush it - let them take care of you. Hope the bruising eases soon.

my oh had morphine for 5 days when he had his done and really strong painkillers when he came home.take care cg:-)

Aww CG it's not at all nice being in lots of pain and discomfort 😞

Just keep resting and eating well as that will aide recovery and help your body heal 🙂

Hi CG:-x you ask for a stronger painkiller if you are so much pain, I'm sure you can have something else than paracetamol. do you still have a drip in? sometimes if they put paracetamol into the drip it works better.
